Summary

Mr. Springer was paying the rent on Harry and Janice’s apartment without Janice’s knowledge, while Harry was gone. He believed Harry would return. Harry and Nelson clean up the apartment to get it ready for Janice, when she leaves the hospital. Nelson is happy that his father is home.

Harry takes Nelson with him when he goes to tell Mrs. Smith he can no longer work for her. He needs a job to support his family and Mr. Springer has offered him a job at one of his car lots. She is sad to see him go and says he has kept her alive, without his presence she says she would have died during the winter. They also visit Mrs. Springer.
