Chapters 10-12 Summary

Chapter 10. The Punt, the Pool, and the Empty Road. Plain Kate wakes and finds herself on Linay's punt. Plain Kate is shocked and afraid to see Linay again, but too ill to do anything about it. It takes Plain Kate several days to recuperate from her experiences. Finally, Plain Kate goes to speak with Linay. Linay sends Plain Kate to have a bath in a shallow pool where they are tied up. Plain Kate bathes and falls asleep for a time. When she wakes, Plain Kate recalls that she should be frightened of Linay. For this reason, Plain Kate decides to run away. However, as she goes back the way they have come, Plain Kate finds herself in a thick fog.
