Part 1, Chapter 4 Summary

Claire and the kilted men continue their journey until they reach a castle. It is the castle, Leoch. As they approach the castle, a man calls to Dougal. Dougal gives his horse reins to him and orders him to beckon a Mrs. Fitz to feed them. Dougal, Rupert and Murtagh walk in another direction as they dismount their horses.

Mrs. Fitz finally comes out and hurries some children away that had been staring at them. When she sees Claire, her mouth drops open. Jamie explains who Claire is. Mrs. FitzGibbons (which is her full name) smiles at Claire and offers to take her into the castle for some more appropriate clothing. Claire almost forgets about Jamie. She mentions that she needs to tend to him because he is wounded. Mrs. Fitz asks Claire if she is a charmer or a Beaton...
