The Brooks's House

The main action of the novel occurs at the Brooks’s house. It is here that Melody feels trapped a bit because she cannot act of her own accord without her mother helping her get ready in the morning. It is also from here that she watches Miss Gertie fall and is able to get her the help that she needs, precipitating the rest of the action in the novel.

The Hospital

Mrs. V takes Melody and Penny to visit Miss Gertie at the hospital. Before this, the four never had much to do with each other because Miss Gertie was a bit of a recluse. Here they are able to talk and learn more about each other.

Television Station
