Summary
Sky explains that there are no chairs at the Globe Theater. Teddy explains to Miss Gertie that he studied at Exeter while she was there. Teddy explains how during Shakespeare’s time, the Globe put flags up to advertise which play was being performed because people could not read flyers.
They arrive at the theater early in Chapter 31. The Globe is modern inside, and Miss Gertie is happy seeing it again. Oliver introduces Mr. Hammond to Miss Gertie. He is a huge fan. Her performance in a Christmas Carol made him want to see more plays. Mr. Hammond is alarmed to learn that they have no one to play Lady Capulet that night.
The group is able to convince Miss Gertie to play the part in Chapter 32. She gets nervous, however, because it has been decades since she last recited the lines...
