Summary

Chapter 7 is titled “Sarah Hatoff Special Report.” The title page is different from most in this novel. It is meant to look like a news report with Sarah Hatoff presenting a special bulletin about comic censorship. On the first page, Sarah introduces herself. She says the Cat Kid Comic Club is in its third week of meetings. She asks a couple of frogs if the tension has affected them. One says "yes," and the other says “Yeah?” after hesitating. Sarah is not sure what to say next when Melvin shouts “Oh!” repeatedly. Melvin says he has been affected because Naomi “got mad and quit … and now I have to sit all by myself” (87). Sarah suggests he move over, but Melvin says that is Naomi's seat and begins to cry. One of the frogs suggests they read a new comic to cheer Melvin.
