Summary

Chapter 1 is titled “Weekend Woes.” The title page includes an image of Flippy moving through the air while Naomi walks and Melvin seems to be running to catch up. All three have frowns on their faces. In the opening scene, a frog named Melvin rushes into Flippy's office, asking if the “publisher lady” has responded to the email. Flippy says they only sent the email 10 minutes earlier. Melvin says he is aware and repeats the question of whether she has replied. Flippy clicks a few buttons on his computer and says, “No.” Melvin goes downstairs and outside, where he tells Naomi the news. Melvin wants to know what is taking so long.
