Chapters 31-34 Summary

Koop is released from jail, free from the confines of a cell and his phobia of being locked up. On the edge, Koop feels as if he is losing control. While spending the night in jail, Koop had worked out almost continuously to keep the feelings of being locked up at bay. Meeting with his attorney, Koop wonders what the police might know, as his lawyer seems to think that selling stolen merchandise does not explain why the authorities are making such a big deal. Unsure of what to do, Koop knows that he will never survive in jail, that if he were convicted of a crime he would flee.
