Chapters 21-25 Summary

Lucas returns downtown to find the area in chaos. A reporter tells him about the attack that had taken place that morning. Jan Reed is there, waiting for the press conference about the attack to begin. Lucas is once again struck by his attraction to her. Lucas speaks briefly to Connell regarding the investigation. Both feel that there will be another killing before they can stop their perpetrator.

Jan Reed stops by Lucas's office and the two go for coffee. Jan tells Lucas about the press conference and the attack on Evan Hart. Reed mentions that Hart's girlfriend, Sara Jensen is furious, wanting the man caught. Between the two people attacked the previous week and now Hart, Jensen is almost in a rage.
