Chapters 26-30 Summary

Lucas and the team meet with the chief and go over what they know, which isn't much. The pictures and the video taken at the scene, while a promising lead, turn out to show little. The witnesses cannot agree on a description other than him being strong and muscular. Giving up, Lucas heads home for a nap, then he and Weather make love. Afterward the two banter playfully about Weather's nudity. Lucas makes a comment about her ass and the connection between the deaf witnesses. Lucas is surprised when Weather comments that quite a few deaf people cannot read English and decides to check into it. After checking with the St. Paul police department, Lucas discovers that their regular translator was not used and he tracks down the witness to verify the information.
