Chapters 11-15 Summary

Lucas meets Jan Reed, a reporter for TV3. Reed wants information and Lucas speaks with her, but the reporter does not learn anything new. Lucas is attracted to Reed, and fails to divulge his relationship with Weather. He does tell Reed that he has a daughter, from a former relationship with a reporter. The two part, with Lucas wondering why he failed to mention Weather when the opportunity presented itself.

Lucas goes to the hospital to watch Weather operate. Weather meets with her young patient, a girl with burns on her arms. The girl is afraid of more pain and Weather calms her. In surgery, Lucas is impressed by Weather, but feels badly for the patient who will obviously be in pain afterward. Weather explains that she is a surgeon, this is what she does. Getting involved on a personal level...
