Summary

Holly thinks the protestors are the same type who protest at abortion clinics. They possess what they believe is righteous anger. Her mother‘s voice continues to tell her that she will not be able to protect Kate. Chris notes the difference between himself and Chrissy but then says that sometimes he is both of them after nightmares. Chrissy will always be a child, but he can “inhabit his sister’s ghost” (180). He remembers his father demanding that no autopsy be done on Chrissy, but his mother got one anyway and learned that Chrissy had a genetic disorder that Chris could have.
