Summary

In Chapter Nine, Fenris told the women that he had been a knight in Hardack who served the Fathers, but when he realized that one of the clan lords was corrupt, Fenris decided to kill him. To spare his own clan from revenge, he decided to go sleep in a forbidden fairy fort, hoping that he would die and there would be no need for retribution. However, he was taken into slavery instead and spent three months at the goblin market. Marra gave him his freedom and worried that he would leave, but he told her that whatever honor he left belonged to her and promised to help her in any possible way. She explained to him about the prince, and Fenris agreed that he needed to be killed.
