Part Two, Chapter 12 Summary

Cam returns to the church to give Allie a ride back to the flower shop and finds Mia there. Cam cannot speak to Mia as he wishes because of Allie, but when they arrive at the shop, Cam steals a few moments alone with Mia while Allie carries supplies into the store. Cam even steals a kiss, unafraid that someone might see them or that Allie might return and catch them. Mia is visibly rattled when Allie returns and pretends it is remorse for having spilled Allie's supply case. In the weeks that follow, Mia refuses to see Cam. One afternoon Cam corners her in the flower shop and demands to know why. Mia denies she is avoiding him and agrees to a walk when Cam assures her that their relationship could continue on a friend's only basis.
