Summary

In Chapter 38, Billie arrives at Tollemache's. Billie spends some time looking at the painting of Sheba. She finds it incredibly sexy and is glad it is being released into the world again. There are lengthy descriptions of the painting, the setting, the guests, and the workers, including the auctioneer. Billie sees Vance who blends in well. She remains in the shadows. Billie puts off making her move until after the Sheba painting sells for more than a million pounds. Billie slips into the seat by Vance and makes casual conversation about the painting. Billie says they only killed Gunther and Carapaz to save themselves. Vance receives a text on his watch. He says the others have been captured at Benscombe.
