Summary

In Chapter 14, Akiko is still angry at Mary Alice the next morning. The Sphinxes put themselves in place hours ahead of meeting Sweeny at Jackson Square. Billie sets up a table pretending to be a gypsy reading tarot cards. Helen takes a place on a restaurant balcony armed with a handgun. Mary Alice plays cello and Natalie has art for sale – both cello and canvases bought from a junk shop. Sweeny does not recognize Billie until she catches his attention.
