Summary

In Chapter 27, the Sphinxes study Carapaz's neighborhood, searching for a way to gain entrance to his house. There are a lot of cameras outside. Natalie comes up with the idea to enter through “Les Catacombes de Paris.” Mary Alice hates the idea because “It's just miles of tunnels full of bones” (243). Natalie says she entered the tunnels on a date. Mary Alice stops her when she talks about the sex. Natalie says the tunnels open into many of the houses in the area. They have been used as escape routes or for transporting items such as coal. Natalie says Helen cannot go because she recently had pneumonia and should not be exposed to the mold. Natalie and Billie will see if they can find a way into Carapaz's house.
