Summary

This chapter opens in Vic's perspective, as he is being interrogated by Sergeant Mendes. Mendes leaves for a moment and Vic pulls out a photograph of Mad. It is one of his most prized possessions. Mendes comes back into the room. She asks about the photo. He puts it away. She asks Vic if he has any idea where his mom is. They cannot seem to get a hold of her. She has been checking in with them every night for the past four nights, but then she stopped and now every call they make goes straight to voicemail. She was worried sick about Vic, Mendes tells him. Vic says he does not know where she is. Mendes just wanted to make sure he knows his mom is worried about him and really cares about him. Vic is still angry with his mom...
