McPherson High School

McPherson High School is a large public school in Atlanta. They have an extremely successful football team, which is rivaled only by the Jonesville High School team. McPherson is predominantly Black in terms of demographics, and Jonesville is predominantly white. Lena has gone to McPherson her whole high school career and she is one of the most popular girls in the school. Lena transfers to McPherson at the start of her senior year, but she is overwhelmed with the change and makes no friends until she works at the concession stand and winds up in the middle of a shooting involving the school's resource officers.
