Time Travel

One of the main themes of this novel is time travel. The novel begins as a sort of paranormal book in which the main character can see the dead. However, as the novel progresses, the main character learns that what she really is seeing is rips in time that allow her to see people from the past who might have lived or work in the places she visits. Emerson then goes on to learn that not only can she see these rips in time, but that with the help of a ring made of a special metal and bridges formed with exotic matter, she can also travel to any point in the past that she desire. In fact, Emerson can also travel to the future with the help of her soul mate, Michael.
