Chapters 48-56 Summary

In Chapter 48, Kaleb tries to use his gifts to take Emerson's emotional pain away, but she refuses to allow him to do it. Instead, Emerson cries in his arms and promises to pull herself together.

In Chapter 49, while allowing Dr. Rook to tend to her injuries, Emerson finally realizes that the man she saw during the fire the night before was Jonathan Landers, and that he is also Jack. Dr. Rook tells Liam Ballard what Emerson has told her and they ask her more questions about Jack and what she saw while in the past the night before. When Emerson tells them it was Ava with Jack that night, they all seem to understand that Ava was the cause of the fire and that is why the police never were able to find a cause for the fire.
