Section 3: Chapters 7-9 Summary

In Chapter 7, Morgan is sent to the office when she is tardy for geometry class, and while she is there, she sees a tall, nerdy new kid who cannot figure out his locker combination or where Tanner's geometry class is, so Morgan offers to help him. The geek shuffles his feet down the hallway, and when Morgan guesses he is new, he tells her he is fifteen years old and this is his first day. Morgan suggests he put his paper bag, which she assumes is his lunch, in his locker. He pauses and agrees, making it obvious it is not his lunch. After he places the bag in the locker with a lingering look, they cross the building in silence, and as they reach Tanner's class, Morgan welcomes him to Stevens High.
