Summary

Chapter 19 is from Wren's perspective. She slips into the dragon city in search of Sky. She finds a shop selling pets and notices some broken latches. She can imagine Sky breaking them to free the animals inside. She locates the shop owner and hears him talking about the dragon that caused problems. The shop owner says “Someone offered to buy him” (197). She cannot understand every word but hears enough to figure out Sky is with a group of sand dragon soldiers. She rushes back toward the place she'd seen them camped. Sky is held by a chain and she cannot free him before the soldiers depart with Sky. (She later discovers General Sandstorm oversees the soldiers.)
