Chapters 16-17 Summary

Due to the fact that Lauren has been assigned to a top secret project, Global Industries security has begun verifying her employment information. Several lies on her application have come to the attention of the head of security and he has decided to open an investigation into her history. At the same time, Lauren has brought a cake to work to celebrate Jim's birthday. Lauren also gives Jim a sweater she originally intended for Nick.
