"Ana Banana" is a nickname Dev uses for Ana, which is a symbol of their close relationship.

The Black Pearl

The black pearl is a symbol of Ana's parents and of Dev's hope that she will do well in the freshman trials. Later, Ana discovers the pearl has a tracking device, a symbol of Dev's devious actions.

Weapons

Just after Ana and the others see the HP campus collapse into the sea, Dr. Hewett has the Sharks arm themselves which is a symbol of the danger the students are facing.

Ester's Note Cards

Ester's note cards represent Ester's need to process information in a specific way. She is often anxious and has an emotional-support dog, but the cards serve her when even the dog is not enough.
