Summary

In Chapter 35, Scarlett arrives in a room to find Tella in a large bed. Tella says she was growing bored, waiting for Scarlett to arrive. Tella sees Julian's blood on Scarlett's clothes but Scarlett explains that she is not injured. Scarlett urges Tella to get dressed so they can leave, but Tella refuses. She continues to argue that Caraval is a game and that Scarlett has become too caught up. Scarlett shows Tella the invitation to Tella's funeral, but the words have changed to become an invitation to a party.

In Chapter 36, Scarlett begs Tella to believe the note originally said funeral. Tella accepts that might be true, but says it must also have been part of the game. Scarlett says their father is also here, but Tella says she is in love with a man named...
