Red/Vince

Red (also known as Vince by Charlie) represents what happens when one is nurtured rather than depending on their nature. As a shadow, it is expected that Red was going to become a monster. He is being fed all of the negative parts of Remy’s personality and treated as nothing more than a thing to be controlled. Then, even as Salt forces Red to kill for him, he still develops human emotions and some level of empathy, proving that one can be nurtured to go against their nature and become something new.

The Hierophant

The Hierophant is a foil to Red because it represents how people can be shaped by their nature. Since the Hierophant is driven by anger and hatred, its nature is that of a monster. No one tells it otherwise, so the Hierophant grows and evolves into a hateful and murderous...
