Satan's Hearse is the nickname of Colin's car. The car is a big, grey Oldsmobile and the car that the boys take on their road trip.

Gutshot, TN is the town where the boys go to see the grave of the Archduke. It is where they meet Lindsey Wells and her mother Hollis. Gutshot ends up being the final destination of their road trip because Hollis offers them jobs and room and board for the summer. Gutshot is home to the manufacturing plant of tampon strings. Lindsey's great grandfather started the factory in the early 1900s, and it is where the boys will work for the summer.
