Chapters 7 and 8 Summary

In Chapter 7, the tour guide leads the boys to the grave of the Archduke and tells the story about his death. When the group returns to the store, the store clerk's mom is there. The mom, Hollis, recognizes Colin from the gameshow he won the previous year. Hollis invites the boys over for dinner. While the boys wait in the living room, Hollis and her daughter, Lindsey, fix dinner in the kitchen. Colin decides to sneak off to a room in the house to work on his formula, The Theorem of Underlying Katherine Predictability. Hollis offers Colin and Hassan jobs for the summer working at the factory her family owns, which manufactures tampon strings. Hollis offers them $500 each a week and room and board. Later, Katherine checks on Colin in his room and they have a conversation about popularity.
