Summary

In Chapter 36, when Jake was able to return to the office, Lucien shared his concern that they were not getting the number of calls requesting services that they should have been getting. He feared the town had turned against Jake. Lucien also noted to Jake he had heard that Jake had tried to refinance his house for some extra cash. When he learned the second mortgage had fallen through, he promised Jake he could call his bank, a bank at which he was the second-largest stockholder, and get Jake’s house refinanced.
