Summary

In Chapter 18, Friday afternoon, Charles paid a visit to Jake’s office to tell him that Kiera was pregnant. A doctor had confirmed she was in her third month. Kiera admitted that Stuart had raped her and told her he would kill her if she told anyone. Josie wanted Kiera to get an abortion. Charles told Jake the two would no longer be welcome at the church if they went through with an abortion.

As Jake drove to the church, he tried to determine what impact Kiera’s pregnancy might have on the trial. He knew it would be important if Drew knew his sister was being raped.
