Summary

Chapter 8

Will sneaks out of their apartment because he wants to go on an adventure. He explores around the apartment, but doesn't find anything exciting. He starts to return home when there is a crash. A hot air balloon has crashed onto the ground in front of the apartment, giving Will the adventure he has been looking for.

Chapter 9

This chapter introduces Toby. Toby is a thief that stole some luggage to sell to The Owner. He has just discovered a rare suitcase, the same type that Mason has. Toby is excited to bring it to sell, but on the way back he nearly runs over Cady because of the foggy weather. He stops at the orphanage and finds himself inexplicably drawn to Cady. When Miss Mallory asks if he came for Cady, he finds himself saying yes, deciding that he wants to...
