All the Colors of the Dark is a psychological thriller written by Chris Whitaker. It was published in 2025 and follows the lives of townspeople in Monta Clare, MO over the course of numerous decades. The characters’ lives are all changed when the anti-hero, Patch, is abducted after saving the most privileged girl in town, Misty Meyer. Once Patch is found, he spends many years in search of the girl, Grace, who was kept with him in captivity. He is aided in this search by his best friend, Saint. The novel explores themes such as how many hardships are undeserved, how loyalty is a solid foundation upon which to build a life, how trauma can influence people for many years, how living in the past precludes a person from being present in their everyday life, and how there is always reason to hope.
