Summary

In Chapter 91, Marten said that the bandits’ camp held between 10 and 30 people. The mercenaries decided to sneak up on the bandits. Marten began praying as lightning flashed. Kvothe used several bindings and the world flashed before his eyes, sending him into unconsciousness.

In Chapter 92, Kvothe woke briefly and heard his companions voicing their suspicions about Kvothe’s involvement in the lightning strikes.

In Chapter 93, Kvothe awoke. The mercenary group recovered for a few days at the bandits’ camp, having defeated the bandits during the lightning attack. They collected coins that they found at the camp. Kvothe asked Tempi to teach him how to use a sword. Tempi asked Kvothe to teach him how to play the lute. Kvothe secured the Maer’s lockbox.

In Chapter 94, the group made their way back to Crosson. Kvothe and Tempi taught each other their promised skills. The...
