Summary

In Chapter 1, Lacy Stoltz, a veteran officer at the Board on Judicial Conduct, agreed to meet with a woman who called herself Margie at a nearby coffee bar. The request to meet outside the office was not uncommon for people who were bringing claims against judges because they often feared retaliation. Lacy asked Darren Trope, her colleague, to visit the coffee bar in 15 minutes to get some pictures of the woman.
