Summary

Part Three is titled The Eye of Onyx. In Chapter 18 it is still raining but not storming and Sunny feels more optimistic. She decides she has to say good-bye to Stonemover. He says it is very “quiet,” and she knows he means “lonely.” Sunny believes she knows how to stop the war. Stonemover reminds her the prophecy is not real but she feels the duty to do her part, regardless of the prophecy. She plans to hand the Eye of Onyx over to one of the queens. Stonemover cannot find the words to express what he “wishes.” Sunny thinks about the things she wishes, but realizes she just wants this to work. As she leaves, sunny feels privileged to have met both her parents but knows she will never “sit in a cave and mope because things aren't the way I want them...
