Summary

Chapter 3

Piper rushes to Jason’s rescue by using her charmspeak to lull all of the revelers to go way. Meanwhile, Jason confronts his mother who attempts to cause him to become confused and depressed. He fights it off and tells her that he doesn’t recognize her as being his mother. She disappears and the charmspeak wears off.

Chapter 4

Jason and the girls are holding their own but the tide turns and Jason is run through with a sword. Angered, Piper takes off Varus’s head after he stabs Jason. Both she and Annabeth try to tend to the wound, but it is smoking and difficult. The sword had been made of Imperial gold, which is a poison to demi-gods.

They manage to get Jason and work their way back to their ship, Argo II, where they try to heal him further...
