Part 7, Chapter 35 Summary

Claire enters the prison and introduces herself as a friend of the Fraser family. They tell her that Jamie is still alive and will be hanged in two days. She is relieved, but tries not to show her feelings. She asks if she may talk to the prisoner or get a letter from him that she can present to the family. They tell her they cannot permit her to visit him, but if she comes back tomorrow they will have him write a letter. Claire left the prison with Jamie's box. Every possession he owned was in it and she knew them all.
