Part 5, Chapter 29 Summary

That night after dinner Claire tells the story of the Redcoats to Jenny. She is imitating Grannie McNab's voice and they all laugh. It is revealed during the story telling that Jamie and Ian grew up together. Ian tells more stories about how they are whipped by their fathers while bending over the fence. More stories followed and when the stories wound down Ian asks Jamie if he is mad that he and Jenny married without Jamie's consent. Jamie assures him and Jenny that it is understandable considering Jamie's circumstances at the time. They aren't even sure if Jamie would ever return when he left. Jamie goes on to tell Ian that his sister picked a very fine husband. This makes Ian happy.
