Part 5, Chapter 28 Summary

Jamie and Claire stay very busy, for they are to leave soon and Jamie wants everything running smoothly while he is away again. Claire and Jamie explain this to Jenny and Ian and say they have to leave before the winter. They will head to Beauly, seat of clan Fraser and hope they will be granted passage to France. Jenny's eyes look sad.

Claire walks with Jamie and Ian to look at a wheel at the mill. Ian says it is stuck and needs Jamie's help. Jamie tells Claire the story of how when he was fourteen years old he went to live with Dougal at Beannachd and Dougal's daughter (Tibby) was the first girl he kissed.
