Part 5, Chapter 26 Summary

Jamie and Claire ride toward Lallybroch on the back of Donas, the big strong horse They are quiet at first, then Jamie shares information on the hunt he is on with the Duke. He isn't sure if he can trust the Duke, so he doesn't tell him his entire story. He only tells him of his wrongful charge and that it will be hard for Jamie to prove his innocence. Claire teases Jamie and asks if the Duke made any advances toward him. Jamie said he had not. Murtagh had left the same time Jamie did when they heard the news of Claire in the village with Geilie. Donas is a faster horse, so Murtagh can't keep up. Jamie tells Claire not to worry about him. He is sure he made it back to the castle.
