Part 4, Chapter 24 Summary

There are many toasts at supper in celebration of Jamie and Claire's marriage. Claire asks Jamie if he is drunk from all of the toasts. He says he is not. Geilie is there with her husband, Arthur, and she sits next to Claire. Claire notices that Geilie had a bit to drink also. She questions Claire about her new husband. Claire says it is nothing more than a business arrangement, but Geilie sees the bite marks on his neck and knows better. She asks Claire about his thumbs, to which Claire looks baffled. Apparently, Geilie thinks you can tell the size of a man's unit by his thumbs. Claire almost laughs at the thought.
