Part 3, Chapter 15 Summary

Back at the inn a wedding feast is waiting. There is roast beef, fresh bread and wine. As Claire goes upstairs to freshen up, Dougal stops her on the stairs and tells her she needs to consummate the wedding. There should be no misunderstandings, and she knows this. Jamie comes to her room a few minutes later. She invites him to sit down beside her. Jamie asks Claire about her late husband (so he thought to be late). She changes the subject. Jamie explains to her that they have several days together at this inn. So it will be easier and more comfortable to get to know one another before actually consummating the marriage. Claire agrees and Jamie takes her hand in his. Jamie tells her that he will honor her, and she can talk about Frank any time she likes...
