Part 1, Chapter 5 Summary

Claire awakens the next day to the voice of Mrs. Fitz, and is startled to realize she is still in the eighteenth century. It is not a dream. Mrs. Fitz brings a yellow dress and bodice for Claire to dress in. She stays as Claire dresses and helps her with her hair, commenting on how short it was cut. After Claire's hair is fixed and she is properly dressed, Mrs. Fitz feeds her some breakfast and then takes her to see MacKenzie. It turns out she is in the realm of clan MacKenzie, which is why the men in kilts traveled so far. They are safe here.
