Part Two, Chapter 16 Summary

At eight on Monday morning, several things happened simultaneously in Wheelock. First, Mia packed her things and checked out of the Wheelock Inn, leaving behind only her prized bonsai tree. Allie began to unpack Cam's luggage and found photographs of him and Mia. Jamie and Graham are preparing for opening remarks at Jamie's trial. Thirty minutes later, Ellen is out for her daily walk and sees Cam going into the Wheelock Inn. Ten minutes after that Cam learns that Mia is gone. There is nothing Cam can do now. He has to be at a legitimate police conference.

Allie goes into town and gets some boxes at the liquor store before returning home. Allie packs all of Cam's things in the boxes and sets them out in the front yard, preparing to sell everything that belongs to her husband...
