Part IV, Chapter 5 Summary

Tak has taken the body of an eagle, and is watching Johnny and David and the rest of the group, using the eyes of his other creatures to spy. The eagle moves to a hiding spot near the entrance to the mine, waiting for the group. Tak cannot occupy this body for long, but he knows the others will come to him in their quest to destroy him, and his is confident he can make the transfer to one of their bodies before this one gives out.

Mary has been rescued by the group in the Ryder Truck, and they are waiting together for David to rejoin them.
