Chapters 28-30 Summary

The water sled was like a minisubmarine, which Kelly uses to reach shore and navigate through the river. He surfaces every thirty minutes to get his visual bearings. Kelly has to force himself to concentrate and keep his active mind busy.

In Pittsburgh, Doris is greeted back to her church by the minister, Pastor Meyer. He is prepared to help Doris as he listens to her story of prostitution and drugs. The Pastor feels he must find a way to help the other girls. He knows he can't force Doris to talk to the police but his son is a police officer, and he tells him about Doris.
