Chapters 13 and 14 Summary

In Chapter 13, Gilbert goes to the insurance agency for his appointment. While he is talking to Mr. Carver, the phone rings and it is Mrs. Carver. Mr. Carver tells Gilbert he has to go. But they'll talk again later.

In Chapter 14, Gilbert and Arnie are standing by the side of the road watching the carnival leave town. As they walk home, Arnie pokes his finger through Gilbert's belt loop and this makes Gilbert snap at Arnie. In response to Gilbert snapping at him, Arnie starts to throw a fit, but Gilbert distracts him by offering to race him home. After Gilbert enters the house, Amy asks where Arnie is. Amy calls Ellen downstairs, but Ellen protests saying she is watching a movie. When Ellen changes her shoes to go get Arnie herself, Ellen insists on doing what Amy is asking her...
