Summary

Chapter 17

The letter opens with Frannie’s letter to Phil. She talks about how she and Phil were engaged, but the marriage never happened. The chapter then returns to Alice thinking about how the party had just gone. Alice had fared well at the party. She had called Elisabeth and Ben to come over and help, but she was comfortable around all of the parents. She was surprised that she wasn’t afraid of crowds anymore, but Elisabeth seemed to have picked that up. Dominick had helped her throughout the party, explaining her condition to the other parents.
