Part 7, Chapter 10 Summary

This ancient and burnt vampire proceeds to tell Marius the story of how the vampires were created. When the king and queen ruled, they sought to put an end to demonic possession of a house. The king emerged and said the spirit wanted to possess a body and was angry because it did not. The king went back in, followed by the queen. A group of assassins went in after them and stabbed them both. The spirit then had a way of entering their bodies. The king and queen were healed but discovered that they needed to drink blood and had to sleep in darkness during the day. Eventually others were created and thus started the vampires. Marius hears this story and refuses to believe it.
